Gin and Japes with Jaques original Ping-Pong, Coffee Cocktail Masterclasses, and Sipsmith 100 Martini, all happening in the space of 5 days can only mean one thing - it's London Cocktail Week.
With all the talk of an Indian summer we thought there surely couldn't be anything more exciting than the prospect of 25 degree heat in the middle of September, but one look at the calendar proved us wrong. Far from wanting to eke out the fine month of September for as long as possible, it is with bated breath that we approach October and for three words that just seem to fit so well together. London. Cocktail. Week. A unique celebration of London's unrivalled cocktail culture there is no better time to hit the town and see what our fair capital has to offer.
This year we have even more to celebrate. As LCW just happens to coincide with the return date of Prudence and Patience from their break in Germany it marks the first time we will have the three sister stills sitting together at 83 Cranbrook road. What better way to celebrate than throw open the distillery doors and give the girls the warm welcome home they deserve?
We'll be running the first full distillery tours of Cranbrook road on Monday, Wednesday and Friday but here's a run-down of what else we're up to that week.
It is with huge pride that we are announcing the return of Sipsmith 100 Martini, back by popular demand, it will be hosted on Monday 6th, Tuesday 7th, Thursday 9th and Friday 10th October in the Kettner's oak panelled Apartment, the perfect sipping spot and the centre of the LCW action.
On Tuesday we're also holding an evening of gin cocktails and Japes with Jaques, purveyors and inventors of Original Ping Pong (not to mention Croquet among others). They'll be joining us to fit the distillery with original ping pong tables - c. 1901 - for a full-on fun-filled evening presided over by Jo and and Emmett Jaques, and of course our house umpires: Prudence, Patience and Constance.
Later on in the week we'll be teaming up with Black Cab Coffee Company for a stimulating Coffee Cocktail Masterclass in the distillery (with the indomitable Max Venning), you'll be sure to spot an espresso Martini or two but there's more to learn about mixing drinks with beautiful brews.
