The Whisky Exchange has won a string of top industry awards since our inception in 1999, for both our website and shop (The Whisky Exchange @ Vinopolis). The latest of these was being proclaimed Whisky Retailer of the Year – Online Outlet (Rest of World) at Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky in 2015, the Oscars of the whisky industry, naming us the best whisky website outside Scotland and North America. We’ll be up against the winners from the other two regions for the worldwide title, which will be announced in March 2015.
Our period of recent success began in 2009, with the shop named Independent Spirits Retailer of the Year by the Drinks Retailing Awards, and the website winning the International Spirits Challenge’s inaugural UK Spirits Retailer of the Year, along with Whisky Online Retailer of the Year (Overall) at the Icons of Whisky.
The titles continued to flow in 2010 with the shop once again picking up Independent Spirits Retailer of the Year from the Drinks Retailing Awards, and the website retaining the Icons of Whisky title of Whisky Online Retailer of the Year (Overall).
Those same two awards were received for the third consecutive year in 2011, along with the UK Spirits Retailer of the Year awarded by International Spirits Challenge. To complete 2011’s bumper year, we were named runner-up in the Drinks Retailing Awards: Online/Direct Mail Retailer of the Year, going one better in 2012 by winning it.

2014 was our shop’s highlight to date, picking up the prestigious accolade of Whisky Retailer of the Year Single Outlet (Overall) at Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky in 2014, naming us the best whisky shop in the world.
